On our second day at Singapore, we decided to go to Universal Studios. We knew ahead that our kids will really love it and that's our purpose anyway to go there and have fun:)The park consists of 7 themed zones :- Far Far Away, Madagascar, Hollywood, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt and The Lost World. Each of these zones is based on blockbuster hits, featuring character appearances, shopping and dining areas.
The Iconic Universal Studios Globe
Closest to the entrance, Hollywood consists of palm trees, vibrant architecture and of course, the Walk of Fame. You’ll also find several restaurants here including Starbucks, and Mel’s Drive-In.
The park opens daily from 10am till 7pm. Entrance fees are S$74 for adults, S$54 for children, and S$58 for senior citizens (65 years old and above). We started off with the Hollywood themed zone initially as it is the main entrance of the park.
Moving on, we reached to the New York themed zone which is based on New York City, during the era of post modernization. Various icons portrayed in movies including neon lights, city skyline and sidewalks can be seen here. The replica of the New York Library can also be seen here. I even managed to catch my childhood idol, Elmo performing together with the rest of the Sesame Street gang there. Too bad we weren't able to shoot more photos since our camera and phone's batteries were already drained:(.

It's so hot so Uncle Jeff treat us ice cream :)
Inspired by the DreamWorks movie of the same name, this zone is located right next to Hollywood and features decor that relates to lush tropical jungles, just like those from the movie.Consisting of two rides: Madagascar: A Crate Adventure and King Julien’s Beach Party-Go-Round, the rides here are mostly catered to the kids but if you’re looking for something to calm you down after the drastic Cylon, then this is the place to be!

Home to the iconic Mummy Ride, Ancient Egypt’s decor is actually an adaptation of 1930’s ancient Egypt. So that’ll explain the enormous Pharaohs’ tombs that are enough to catch your eye from afar.If you have absolutely no fear of the dark and are into high-speed roller coasters, then take a ride on the Mummy Ride.

The Lost World is divided into two themed areas – Jurassic Park and Waterworld. It is located right next to Ancient Egypt and contains many attractions that you can also find in other Universal Studios in the world such as the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure.

In fact, there are more exciting attractions here as compared to the other zones in the park. Guests can look forward to Canopy Flyer, Dino-Soarin’ and even a rock-climbing attraction: Amber Rock Climb.

Don’t miss out on the exciting live-action performance called Waterworld: A Live Sea War Spectacular, that is definitely one of the must-sees when you’re at Universal Studios! See death defying stunts at this live stunt show. Expect lots of thrills, spills and pyrotechnics.

Transformers: The Ride, expect long queues, even during the off-peak days! Also, did we mention that USS is the world’s first theme park to debut Transformers: The Ride? So be sure to not miss that out!

We then headed to the Transformers ride which is also one of the most popular ride in the park. The ride uses 4-D effects such as hot air, water spray, wind, fog and so on to make the ride more realistic. The queue for the ride was really really long. We had to wait for almost an hour in line just to go for the ride. It was worth the wait though, as the ride was fun and awesome.

Next, we went to Far Far Away, which was inspired by the hit blockbuster, Shrek. Special apperances by, Shrek, Donkey, Puss In Boots and Princess Fiona can be seen here. One of the main highlights here is the 40-metre tall Far Far Away Castle, which is really huge.

To sum it all up, We had a really great time here. We enjoyed a lot and we are really looking forward to coming back here soon. We were dead tired at the end of that day, but it was totally worth it. Universal Studios Singapore is a definitely a must-go if you ask me.:)
